1987 March Campus construction completed.
April Iwaki Meisei University opened.
July Student union founded.
September All-weather tennis court completed.
October School opening ceremony
Statue of Erini unveiled. The yacht "Echo II" is brought from Taiwan.
November Student Club House completed.
1988 March College of Science and Engineering, and College of Humanities each publish their first Research Bulletin.
April Teachers' certification courses begun. Auditing classes inaugurated.
May First open lecture held.
July Shiosai-so training facility opened.
October First IMU Festival held.
1989 January Vibration/Control Experiment Center completed.
1990 April Electron Microscope Department opened.
Computer Center systems enhanced.
1991 March First graduation ceremony held, with 526 graduates in the first class.
April Credentials for curators and school librarians granted.
June Tatsusaburo Suzuki named second president, replacing Mitsuo Kodama.
September The yacht "Echo III" is brought from Taiwan.
1992 March Graduate school with 4 majors in 2 research courses established.
1993 October The school's parent body, Meisei Gakuen, celebrates its 70th anniversary.
1994 March Two doctoral research courses established, each with 2 majors at the graduate school.
November Observation team from the school successfully observes solar eclipse in South America.
1995 March British and American Literature graduate course established. East Science and Engineering Building completed.
April Shozo Sawada named third president, replacing Tatsusaburo Suzuki.
October Computer system updated in order to enable Internet access.
1996 April Seidai Arai named administrative director.
1997 October 10th anniversary of Iwaki Meisei University celebrated.
November Iwaki Meisei University alumnae association founded.
1998 March The yacht "Echo II" is retired and exhibited on-campus.
April High-tech Research Center opened.
1999 January National Center Test for University Admissions conducted.
April Takanobu Terada named fourth president, replacing Shozo Sawada.
2000 April Kazuaki Saito named fifth administrative director.
May Establishment of Department of Environmental Science in the College of Science and Engineering, and the Schools of Linguistic Culture and Psychology in the College of Humanities approved.
2001 June Laboratories completed.
October Iwaki Meisei University parents' association founded.
2002 September The yacht "Echo III" is retired and exhibited on-campus.
2003 February Reconstruction of the Public Welfare Building completed.
April High-tech Research Center remodeled to become the Cooperative Research Center.
2004 April High-Resolution Analytical Electron Microscope Center remodeled to become the Cooperative Research Center.

September Academic exchange and secondment program started with Liaoning University of Petrochemical Technology in China.
November Establishment of Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy approved
2007 March The building of Faculty of Pharmacy, Learning Center, and Medicinal Botanical Garden completed.
April Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy established October Iwaki Meisei University's 20th anniversary ceremony was held.
2008 May International academic exchange agreement concluded with Shenyang Pharmaceutical University of China
July Tokusaburo Kurata named the sixth administrative director.
October The 85th anniversary celebration held by Meisei Gakuen, the parent school corporation of Meisei University
2009 April Takeshi Sekiguchi named the sixth president, replacing the fifth president, Masaaki Takashige
2010 April Established the Department of Science and Engineering, College of Science and Engineering.
2011 April A Volunteer Center opened.
June University-high-school cooperation with Fukushima Prefectural Iwaki Sakuragaoka High School started.
July University-high-school cooperation with Fukushima Prefectural Yumoto High School started.
Iwaki Recovery Festival @ Iwaki Meisei University was held.
October A Reconstruction Project Center opened.
2012 April University-high-school cooperation with Fukushima Prefectural Iwaki Sogo High School started.
November Motokazu Yoshida was named the seventh administrative director.
2013 April Yoji Yamazaki was named the seventh president.
November A cooperation agreement with Naraha-machi, Futaba-gun, Fukushima Prefecture was made.
2015 April The Department of Regional Liberal Arts, Faculty of Liberal Arts, was established.
