Faculty of Pharmacy

Pharmacists increasingly require highly specialized knowledge as well as a profound sense of culture and excellent human characteristics to support the knowledge attained.

Our University has a College of Humanities, College of Science and Engineering, and Graduate School, thus enabling students to experience both a basic and cultural education with fully engaged professors. Through the wide-ranging curriculum in combination with other colleges, students can gain the skills needed by highly specialized pharmacists such as in linguistic and psychological subjects to enhance communication with patients and in computer-related subjects taught by information specialists.

Department of Pharmacy

As disease mechanisms are elucidated, pharmacists need to be able to offer "tailor-made care" , prescribing suitable medicines individually to each patient. Iwaki Meisei University has adopted a new education system to foster talented persons with specialized pharmaceutical knowledge and reliable skills as pharmacists. This curriculum is the first of its kind in Japan, and by reducing the total number of subjects studied in a week, students can learn step by step from the basic stage to advanced stage, instead of the conventional curriculum of studying both basic and specialized subjects in parallel. With this well-balanced curriculum, students of the university are trained to become pharmacists who can play an active role in various medical fields such as hospitals/pharmacies involved in local care and who can widely contribute to society.
